In the era of unavailability of computers and internet platform for learning anatomy, Dr Bhagwan Din Chaurasia’s textbook on human anatomy was like a boon for the medical students. Dr Chaurasia was the great anatomist of India who published his first textbook in 1979 and since then it is widely read all over the world by the medical students pursuing MBBS. His books are unique in presenting systemic and comprehensive texts of applied anatomy in a simple language with easily reproducible line diagrams. Dr Chaurasia was a rare combination of an excellent teacher and a distinguished research worker. He was also a member of the advisory board of many national and international journals.
